  • Searching for a mentor who can guide YOU?

I’ve worked in the animation & film industries for over 15 years and now have created a bunch of great animation tutorials (like my Free Animation Pipeline Video Overview (it’s the #1 thing you guys said you wanted to learn) to help you have the success you know you deserve!

So if you’ve been dreaming of becoming a successful animator, then you’ve found the right site!

The Magic of Movies...

All the the other sites out there are confusing, with no real path to getting started.  It’s like animation information overload.  That’s why I’ve designed this site to be easy to navigate.

The goal of this site is to teach you what art schools don’t.

I went to one of the best animation schools in the country (CalArts) and one of the world’s top art schools (ArtCenter College of Design).

Both schools prepared me to be an artist BUT they gave me virtually ZERO education on how the business side of art works.

Things like:

  • Marketing
  • Branding
  • Making & Saving Money
  • Planning Your Career
  • Getting Your First Job
  • & How To Be A Success!

(Who wants to be a struggling artist?)

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary for an animator on feature films is over  $80,000 a year.  It’s really good money, IF you know how to get your foot in the door.

That’s why I’ve spent the last 15 years figuring that all out (sometimes the painful way).  I don’t want you to have to struggle and be frustrated.  I’m here to mentor you on the business side of animation & art.

So if you need an animation tutorial that shows you the pointers of animation PLUS the secret sauce on how you start working, then read on…

What Makes My Animation Tutorials So Different?

Every workshop, class & animation tutorial will not only focus on sharing my 15 years of experience as an animator, animation director (for movies & commercials), & live-action director

BUT

They’re also going to show you how to apply all the animation pointers and techniques into getting your dream job or keeping the one you’ve got.

You’re an artist after all, so why stress about work?

(It’s the anti-thesis of being creative.  So know that I’ve got your back and it’s my mission to share all my experience with you.)

Imagine having a mentor who has worked at most of the big studios in Hollywood.

Imagine getting an insiders looks at the world of filmmaking, storytelling, animation, video games & special effects.

My biggest passion is storytelling, so beyond teaching you skills on how to get the job, I’m going to help make you a storytelling master!  Because the foundation of all great animation is a simple, well told story.

To quote John Lasseter:

“You cannot base a whole movie on just the imagery alone.

It has to be the story and the characters.”

To recap, you MUST KNOW:
  • Basic Drawing
  • Basic Design
  • Basic Animation Fundamentals
  • FIlm Grammar (staging)
  • Story, Writing (3 act story structure)

“The software will change and evolve, but the basics stay the same.

It’s what you do with the software is where the magic happens.” – Me (paraphrasing Mr. Hawaii Shirt)
